Our Family Story
The story of Georgia Ham & Bacon Company begins almost 80 years ago when my Grandfather started a small butcher shop, where he handcrafted smoked bacon, country hams and seasoned sausage made from my great grandfather’s recipe. For It was a cold Georgia November morning where the memories of an eight-year-old boy watched in wonder as his family transformed fresh pork into extraordinary tasting hams and bacon. It wasn't just about making food – it was about community, about sharing with neighbors, about understanding that the best things in life can't be rushed. That boy, now known as "Dan the Bacon Man," carries forward those same traditions today, not out of mere nostalgia, but because they remain the right way to create exceptional hams & bacon. We stand as guardians of a different path. Each week, we transform small batches of premium pork into extraordinary hams & bacon. This isn't a limitation, it's a guarantee of excellence. You won't find commercial chemicals, antibiotics, or GMOs in our products. We use only ingredients that would have been familiar to our great-grandparents: pure maple syrup, natural wood smoke, simple spices, and time – always time. Our signature creations boast recipes handed down for generations. From our apple smoked maple bacon to our traditional country style hams they all undergo a meticulous journey from fresh pork to finished product. We are community of craft artisans.
