COMMERCIAL SUPPLIERS

Our master distiller tastes every barrel of our whiskey to make sure it meets our high standards, blending 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old barrels into each batch for a perfect balance of flavor. So, you won’t see age statements on our Southern Bourbon, because we age to taste, not just to time.

Rooted in the Pacific Northwest since 1990, we’ve spent the past 30 years crafting premium quality wood pellets for those that are passionate about BBQ.  But at Bear Mountain, we don’t just care deeply about the way our grilled food tastes; we also care a whole lot about the earth.  That’s how we decided to bring these two passions together.

Our family began working in maple over 150 years ago; I’m the seventh generation to work our family farm. When I was three, I was riding behind the tractor while dad and granddad tapped trees. Soon enough, I was working in the sugarbush myself. That’s part of what it means to be a seventh-generation maple farmer. By choosing Coombs Family Farms products, you’re helping to keep working farmland open and sowing the seeds for a healthier, more sustainable society.

Ashe County Cheese was started in 1930 by the Kraft Corporation. Kraft helped consolidate several small community cheese plants in the area and provided the means and expertise to produce cheddar daisy wheels for distribution nationwide. They operated the plant until 1975 when they sold it to then manager, Chesley Hazlewood. Mr. Hazlewood operated the business until his death in 1980.  In 1981, Mrs. Hazlewood sold Ashe County Cheese to Jerry Glick and Doug Rudersdorf, two cheese men from Wisconsin. Glick and Rudersdorf remodeled and upgraded both the cheese plant and the cheese store, located across the street. They also added a viewing room to the plant. It was at this point that Ashe County Cheese became one of the most popular tourist attractions in North Carolina.
